Cabela’s breaks ground in Albuquerque

The 70,000-square-foot store announced last year will be an anchor tenant at the Legacy at Journal Center development, near the intersection of Paseo del Norte and Interstate 25. Titan Development is the developer on Legacy at Journal Center. The store aims to open in the fall, reports the Journal.

Retirees are continuing to move to the Mountain and Pacific West, with one in four of those indicating that they chose to move to this location for retirement reasons. In December, Albuquerque Business First reported on how New Mexico business leaders were attempting to ‘reinvent retirement’ in the state. Retirement communities are getting a lot of attention from local real estate developers.
Cabela’s at Journal Center is a go

Work is officially underway on the new Cabela’s at Paseo and I-25, anchoring what will ultimately be a $68 million, mixed-use development including other retail, restaurants and apartments. The 21-acre development, called Legacy Journal Center, is being developed by Titan Development, the project’s managing partner.

Broadstone Promenade is an apartment community developed by Titan Development in a joint venture with Alliance Residential. One of the major successes of the project was the mix of 60 townhome units, as suggested by the future residents, with a mix of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom units, with direct-access garages. Titan also had to overcome significant negative publicity generated by two previous unsuccessful attempts to purchase and rezone the property, as well as a very active neighborhood association.
Apartments near downtown hospital win city OK

Titan Development and Maestas Development Group will break ground on an upscale apartment community north of Central Avenue near Presbyterian Hospital next summer. Dubbed The Broadstone Highlands, the 74-unit multi-family project features a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments.
New Braunfels’ German heritage makes it perfect for European investment

Another recent example of collaboration and partnership was the announcement that Canadian General Tower is moving to New Braunfels, after eight months of work and collaboration with local government. To help facilitate investment, the city authorities established a public-private partnership with Titan Development that will help subsidise the leasing cost to tenants. The New Braunfels site will be an $80m cumulative investment, divided into multiple phases, utilising 28 acres of the planned 96-acre Titan Industrial Park, with total local revenues of $3,072,000 and over 200 employees. In the future, the New Braunfels site has the potential to add additional manufacturing and product lines.

Titan Development lays out site plan for Central Avenue project

The city’s planning commission approved the first piece of The Highlands, a new mixed-use community on Central Avenue, across the street from Presbyterian Hospital. The 10-acre live-work-play lifestyle community is being developed by Titan Development and Maestas Development Group. The project area is bound by I-25 to the west, Central to the south, Sycamore Street to the east and Copper Avenue to the north. The well-known Crossroads Motel on Central is not part of the project.

The Chuck Gara Community Leader Award was given to the principals of Titan Development Co., an Albuquerque-based company that broke ground on an estimated $150 million in projects this year. The 45-employee firm has operations in New Mexico, Texas and Florida, and a particular emphasis on senior living. Titan’s executive team comprises Kurt Browning, Drew Dolan, Kevin Reid and Ben Spencer. They have been involved in more than $1.2 billion of real estate development, including industrial, multifamily, mixed-use, office and retail buildings.
