James H. Hinton

James currently serves as an Operating Partner for the private equity firm Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe. He has been a director of the company since January 2022 and serves on the Compliance Committee and the Finance Committee. From 2017 through 2021, he served as the CEO of Baylor Scott & White Health, the largest not-for-profit health system in Texas and one of the largest in the US. Beginning in 1983, James served for 21 years as president and CEO of not-for-profit Presbyterian Healthcare Services, New Mexico’s largest not-for-profit healthcare provider. During that time, he was a member of the American Hospital Association Board of Trustees and served as its Chair in 2014. James holds a master’s degree in healthcare administration from Arizona State University and a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of New Mexico.
